Carrier Shipping Integration module, now available for Dexterity Warehouse Management System

Many Dexterity WMS customers were encountering a major bottleneck when having to enter shipping data into their carriers on-line systems, with workers needing to re-key data that already exists in the WMS. In addition to the extra time needed, workers often made mistakes with customer names and addresses, or choose the wrong service level or the wrong carrier, if using more than one carrier for shipping.

The Dexterity Automated Shipping Module (ASM), takes live data from the WMS and completes the carriers on-line shipping system, choosing the correct service level and generating the shipping labels for that consignment. No operator input is required and where multiple carriers are used, Dexterity ASM employs a rule based system to select customer or product specific instructions to select the carrier and service level required. Some end customers wish products to be shipped by a different carrier if its over a certain weight, or may require an express shipper for high value items.

Whatever the customer requirement or the business needs for single or multi-carrier shipping, Dexterity's ASM will automatically deal with carrier on-line shipping and labeling, freeing warehouse staff to ensure that shipping orders are ready on time and ensuring that information passed to the carriers system is always correct.
