The 20th World Diabetes Congress has been accredited with 28 hours of credits from the Canadian accreditation body and 21 hours of credit from the European accreditation body.

“For our association, Diabetes South Africa, that is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, it will be once again an ideal opportunity to share and gain knowledge and share experiences with our brother and sister organisations from around the globe at the 20th World Diabetes Congress.

After having you all in our country South Africa for the 19th World Diabetes Congress, which was a great success, it will be very interesting to see and hear the changes since three years ago. Since then many of us met in New York in November 2007 and celebrated the United Nations formally declaring diabetes a world pandemic (UN Resolution on diabetes). This we hope has lead to governments changing their stance on diabetes and making changes to help those who have this disease.
Our message to those attending is to get the most out of the friendship that has been forged between the various members making up the International Diabetes Federation by learning, and by sharing knowledge and experiences so that we can overcome Diabetes.
Come to Montreal with an open mind and leave with it filled with knowledge and return to your home countries with vigour to do further work.”
