FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) December 15, 2011 --
December 16th, 2011, Huntington Beach, CA - Cash Unclaimed is considered one of the world's largest databases for searching for unclaimed property and unclaimed money. Now, a new video has hit YouTube revealing the history of the database, along with examples of why unclaimed money might be sitting in government coffers. The Cash Unclaimed video is an interview with Bill McIntosh, the founder of Cash Unclaimed.com. The video begins with the interviewer asking where McIntosh got the idea for the unclaimed money search website.
Bill McIntosh states that, after researching unclaimed property and unclaimed money, he found that states were doing little to notify people that billions of dollars were sitting in government treasury accounts. McIntosh went on to say that he found that letters were being sent out, but those letters were usually sent to old or bad addresses. And notices of unclaimed property and money were published in the newspaper, but nothing else was being done to let people know that unclaimed money was available. Furthermore, McIntosh says that states were even spending the unclaimed money in their general budgets.
In the Cash Unclaimed video, McIntosh goes on to say that he started Cash Unclaimed because he wanted to use modern technology to consolidate all the databases out there into one easily-searchable database. According to McIntosh, there are 60 or more major databases, including county and federal level databases that all hold unclaimed money. He asks, "Why not put that all together, let people have one place to search from and make it easy for people to collect and get back what's rightfully theirs?" McIntosh started Cash Unclaimed 8 years ago as a way to help individuals begin the search for unclaimed property and unclaimed money. When asked what a free unclaimed money search entails, McIntosh explains that a free money search is a way for individuals to get a sneak peek into the Cash Unclaimed database using the searcher's first and last name.
The interviewer at one point in the Cash Unclaimed video asks for the definition of unclaimed property. As McIntosh explains it, unclaimed property is just another name for unclaimed money and the term is typically used by government agencies. When asked in the Cash Unclaimed video what sort of unclaimed property and money might be available, McIntosh states several examples, including abandoned safety deposit boxes, old inheritances, old bank accounts and refunds on insurance premiums and rental properties. But he states that the unclaimed property and unclaimed money could be anything that goes unclaimed. At this point in the Cash Unclaimed video, McIntosh relays a personal story. He describes how he started a small business several years ago and at that time opened a small business bank account. After shutting that business down, McIntosh says that he assumed the business account was closed only to find that, years later, the account had $356 just sitting in the account waiting to be claimed.
About CashUnclaimed.com video: The Cash Unclaimed video ends with the interviewer asking if it is possible for people to find hundreds or even thousands in unclaimed money. McIntosh states that he knows of people who have found tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars. The interviewer closes the Cash Unclaimed video with an apt statement. "That would be a good day." To view the Cash Unclaimed video on YouTube, visit: youtube.com/watch?v=upA8fYGJgnQ.
