CAT² Announces New Training Register Feature for Food Safety and Quality Management Module

CAT², Inc., leader in Manufacturing Execution Systems for the food industry, announces the new Training Register feature in our Food Safety and Quality Management module (HAT). HAT focuses on proactively controlling processes and preventing failures. Using HAT, you can guarantee that products meet your company’s and your customers’ standards for safety and quality. You may configure checks per your company’s HACCP, HIMP, USDA, FDA, QA, QC, and SOP/GMP specifications. Associates may collect weight, size, temperature, grading, and defect data on the plant floor as well as perform yield, retention, and AQL checks. They may use touch-screen, hand-held, or tablet computers to capture this data, eliminating manual data entry and reducing paperwork. Unmanned devices such as wireless sensors can record temperatures or transmit pH, flow, pressure, and humidity levels. Forming and other processing equipment may also be monitored with HAT. When checks enter an alarm state, a page, text message, email, or scoreboard alert can be used to notify plant personnel, allowing them to immediately respond to the process, re¬ducing failures and downtime and improving efficiency.

CAT² has recently added the ability to track and monitor employee training in HAT; this feature will help BRC- and SQF-certified companies manage their training records and track employee qualifications.

Features of the Training Register:

• Manages master electronic records for training courses
• Manages electronic training materials, including version control
• Provides electronic multiple-choice tests
• Scores employees’ tests automatically
• Tracks each employee’s training history

• Determines which employees are qualified for specified job roles
• Controls operator access for performing HACCP and QA checks based on qualification
• Alerts when re-training is required
• Reports on lapsed training by person or course
