Catch the Actions of American Football in India on Ten Sports

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 12, 2012 -- January 12, 2012: The Elite Football League of India, an autonomous sports enterprise, has proposed to give Indian sports a new dimension with the introduction of American Football in India. The league in collaboration with the Indian government and Sports Authority of India has chosen Pune to host the inaugural season of American Football league scheduled to be held in November 2012.

The official website of the Elite Football League of India, http://www.efli.com/ has posted the schedules of all 56 matches, plus two play-off games to decide the candidature of the top teams, to be played in the inaugural season of the American Football League in India mentioning dates and contesting teams that are subject to change. Like the Indian Premier League (IPL), the EFLI will auction its contesting teams internationally, thus letting owners to fund players, coaches and other staff to prepare their teams for the first-of-its-kind football league in India.

Giving television rights to Ten Sports, the EFLI envisages to outrival IPL in terms of popularity and opportunity and capture the large Indian market in particular and South Asia in general. Initially, the league will kick off its session with eight teams - Mumbai Gladiators, Hyderabad Skykings, Goa Swarm, Pune Blacktigers, Kolkata Vipers, Delhi Defenders, Punjab Warriors and Bhubaneswar Warhawks and each team will play twice with the other team that will span four long months.

EFLI founder and chief operations officer Sunday Zeller said, “India is undoubtedly the perfect arena to play the American Football as the country's 1.2 billion people and upsurging economy will combine to make the game the most valuable sports franchise in the world.”
