(Free-Press-Release.com) July 9, 2010 -- While the rest of us were listening to our AM/FM transistor radio and typing letters on an IBM Selectric typewriter, Jim Rutledge, Sr., President and Owner of CCS Business Solutions, Inc. was already knee-deep in managing his customer’s computer needs.

“In those days, it was too expensive for a company to purchase their own main frame computer,” said Rutledge. “I started CCS as Canton Computer Services, Inc. along with a couple dedicated investors and purchased a main frame computer system that my customers could utilize.”

Ahead of his time, Jim’s data entry employees would punch the information manually on data entry cards. Keeping track of accounting processes like payables, receivables and invoicing, Jim grew the company to service over 25 local businesses. Each day a driver would pick up and return the information to customers so the data entry clerks could enter it into the computer.

In 1984 CCS was the first local online company. They put terminals in each customer’s office so that data could be transmitted online. It was state-of-the-art for its time.

“We began the business focusing on construction companies,” said Rutledge. “Over time we added manufacturers, distributors and service related businesses. We started serving Stark County and now have expanded to ten states and Mexico.”

CCS Business Solutions, Inc. grew their offerings to include infrastructure design and implementation, building networks for their customers. As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner they offer a complete line of Microsoft products as well as providing a critical disaster recovery service.

“We’ve come full circle,” Rutledge explains. “In the seventies we hosted customer’s information on our main frame and now as cloud computing and outsourcing become more prevalent we again host our customer’s hardware and software keeping their technology up-to-date and fully functional.”

Jim Rutledge, Jr. joined the company in 2000 and serves as the Executive Vice President but one can assume that he will one day step into the shoes of his father.

“Technology is the infrastructure of businesses today, from gathering and analyzing data to marketing and human resources,” said Rutledge, Jr. “It is exciting to be part of a company that provides a great and vital service to its customers.”
