CCS helped build a customized solution to help create an application for an iPad tablet using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and pre-existing software at the client site like Star Team, Silk Central Test Manager and SharePoint 2010.

They adopted an onsite-offsite-offshore (Hybrid) model for the delivery of the product to keep costs to a minimum and to provide a 24/7 productivity to meet the tight timelines of the client. They also used an Incremental Software Development Lifecycle over multiple iterations to give their client a chance to evolve their product as they could see early operational software solutions and freeze requirements in the early iterations of the project lifecycle.

CCS considered multiple options for the functional testing of a globally available mobile solution including using – Simulators, Real Handsets, Cloud based testing etc. but was determined to proceed with a cloud based solution. The cloud based solution offered the best balance of costs, with ease of maintenance and accessibility of the test bed from anywhere across the globe. This also enabled tester to easily access real mobile handsets and tablets connected to live mobile networks across global cell networks. It allowed for a streamlined development, testing and effective monitoring of the testing processes.

By conducting effective project management, accurate cost estimates and employing a hybrid off shoring model, CCS minimized costs in the project resulting in substantial savings for the client. The entire solution was implemented in about five months, by effectively using a hybrid offshore development model.
