Atlanta CDC Museum features new short video documentaries working with Georgia-Pacific Professional, who made the exhibit possible by a generous grant to the CDC Foundation.

Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) January 16, 2012 -- Watching Hands: Artists Respond to Keeping Well is a new exhibit at the David J. Sencer CDC Museum in Atlanta showcasing the work of six artists commissioned to interpret the act of hand washing in innovative and unexpected ways.

Working with Georgia-Pacific Professional, who made the exhibit possible by a generous grant to the CDC Foundation, video crews from Blue Marble Media traveled across the U.S., shooting interviews with each artist as they worked on their commissions. The six Platinum MarCom Award-winning short documentaries, each about two minutes in length, are being shown as part of the exhibit, and are also available to view online.

The exhibit,features posters by James Victore of Brooklyn, NY, whose work has been featured twice on the cover of Time magazine and also in exhibitions at New York’s Museum of Modern Art. Other featured artists include John Bankston of San Francisco, Joe Peragine of Atlanta, Katherine L. Ross of Valparaiso, IN, Didi Dunphy of Athens, GA, and Laura Splan of Brooklyn, NY.

Watching Hands artists stretch the boundaries of current public health campaigns through painting, drawing, graphic design, sculpture, video, installation, and new media.

The exhibit opened on September 24, 2011 and remains on display to January 12, 2012. Admission is always free to the public.
