CEETOX IS FINALIST FOR PRESTIGIOUS TECHNOLOGY AWARD FROM COSMETICS & TOILETRIES MAGAZINE

(Free-Press-Release.com) March 16, 2010 -- KALAMAZOO, Michigan March 16, 2010 – CeeTox, Inc. has been named a finalist for an International Technology Award by Cosmetics & Toiletries magazine. The awards will be presented in Paris during In-Cosmetics, April 13-15, 2010.

CeeTox Inc. is one of three finalists in the New Technology category for its new in vitro skin sensitization test assay. The new assay uses chemical reactivity and gene expression profiling to screen chemicals for skin sensitization. The assay also provides an estimate of the corresponding local lymph node assay (LLNA) values. This method is designed to offer a viable alternative to animal testing for identifying skin-sensitizing chemicals and supports the Cosmetics Directive and REACH.
Nominations were reviewed by an international council of R&D experts at leading cosmetic and personal care companies around the world. This council selected the finalists and a separate industry jury will choose the winner.

Skin sensitization is a dermal response to a hapten (a foreign, low molecular weight substance) that acts like an allergen. Allergic contact dermatitis resulting from skin sensitization is a common environmental and occupational health concern.
