FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) January 12, 2011 -- January 10, 2011 – Wilmington, DE , On February 6th, , 2011 Salon 828 is hosting a fund raiser in honor of Rosanne Wayman who died from pancreatic cancer last year. Holly Grist the owner of the salon lost her mother last year six weeks after her diagnosis. Grist wants to “give something back” to the heroes all over the country who already had made it their personal mission to find uniquely creative ways to raise funds and awareness for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

The event will be held at the salon where haircuts will be preformed all day – 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Hirshberg Foundation. This diverse community of unique change makers continues to grow and inspire us every day. Every day, with your help, we move closer to finding a cure for Pancreatic Cancer. Every donation makes a difference and no donation is too small.

“My mother’s courageous battle with pancreatic cancer serves as an inspiration for anyone suffering from a life-threatening disease. Pancreatic cancer is the most lethal cancer there is –the fact that our only weapon against this disease, which has a survival rate of just 5 percent, is a continued commitment to funding research that will enhance our understanding of pancreatic cancer, improve early diagnosis and treatment options, and one day, lead us to a cure. We will not back down from the battle against pancreatic cancer. We are all deeply saddened by her death.” says Grist.

ABOUT HIRSHBERG FOUNDATION: The Foundation’s dedicated efforts have significantly raised awareness and understanding about pancreatic cancer, a disease that continues to be one of the most fatal and least funded of all cancer types. Their continued funding of basic and translational research is their chance to offer life extension, better treatment options and, eventually, a cure. The Hirshberg Foundation staff is able to help when patients and families first receive diagnosis of pancreatic cancer by providing doctor referrals across the United States, second opinion referrals, treatment facility referrals, nutritional information, financial aid information, emotional support information for patients, families and caregivers and someone to talk to that has been through the process from beginning to end.
