Celebrated Artist Christy Buchanan Announces studio Spring Showing at AllThingsPainted

(Free-Press-Release.com) January 8, 2010 -- Christy Buchanan will be hosting a spring opening of her studio in April. She has expanded into additional studio space near her new home. Various completed art works will be on display, along with oil paintings by Leslie Mace, a celebrated wildlife artist.

In 2002, Christy opened her first studio space in Winnsboro, SC. Over the years, she has added different items such as her “Little bits of art” as an answer to her fans that wanted little bits of her floor cloths. Today, these paintings have become as popular as her other creations. Christy has the original cafeteria in Greenbriar School to showcase her unique talents. The school was built in 1940 from Winnsboro Blue Granite. The combination of the granite walls and Christy's colorful works makes the experience truly a destination place. She is currently planning on holding four functions a year. Her works will include paintings, furniture, floor cloths, and some great fun mixed in with it. Each quarter she will feature her limited edition "lines of whimsy" as well adding works of other artist in the upcoming events. As one of her customers proclaims “her works are fun and make me smile. From her original small “fridge art” to the large custom pieces, I always come away inspired, happy, and of course with a few pieces that I can’t resist.”

Christy says “art doesn’t need to be so serious all the time.” Her whimsical creations are designed for you to feel the same joy that Christy has when she creates them.
