Center Stage Youth Theatre Announces Auditions for August 2010 Production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet

(Free-Press-Release.com) April 2, 2010 -- Auditions for Center Stage Youth Theatre's August production of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet will be Monday June 7th and Tuesday June 8th at 7:00pm, location TBA.

We are looking for up to 30 actors in grades 7 through 2010 high school grads. Please come prepared with a favorite passage from Shakespeare to read (no memorization necessary.) If you don't have a favorite Shakesperean passage yet, come to auditions anyway! We'll have some monologues that we will introduce you to, and you can use one of those for your audition.

We will also play improvisation games and read scenes from the script. If you are cast in the show there will be a $40.00 participation fee to help us with production costs.

Center Stage Youth Theatre is a theatre program dedicated to providing quality workshop, rehearsal and performance experiences for central South Carolina children and teenagers. We are a theatre training program for young actors and strive to instill in our students the qualities and work ethic of professional performers, we are also devoted to nurturing the positive impact that creative drama and theatre education can have on a young person's physical, emotional, social and cognitive development. Center Stage Youth Theatre produces four major shows a year in various venues, offers year round workshops for all age groups, as well as summer day camps and special field trip opportunities.
