(Free-Press-Release.com) February 16, 2012 --
Pfafftown, N.C. (2-16-2012) Sneed Speed Racing has signed driver Johan Schwartz in their campaign to win the National Auto Sport Association E-1 Class Enduro title. With 26 years of racing experience, Schwartz has experience in 100+ open wheel, karting, SCCA and NASA events. A champion in the 2009 BMW E30 spec class, he claimed wins at Sebring, Road Atlanta, Carolina Motorsports Park, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Homestead, Stafford, Nelson Ledges, Rockingham and Watkins Glen throughout his career. Schwartz is a Driver Team Member for BMW North America’s historic car collection, prepared by Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing and is a factory driving instructor at the BMW Performance Center in Spartanburg, SC. He has driven for Team Raceworks and Team Nixon in the Grand Am Continental Sports Car Challenge in 2011 and 2012. He is a champion in long distance 6-24 hour kart races in US, France, England and Portugal.
“It’s exciting to have Johan on our team,” said Chris Sneed, team owner, “His experience and skills are phenomenal. He is really, really fast and consistent. With a guy like Johan, I like our chances at winning the NASA Enduro championship in Atlanta this November, and the national Sprint race in Ohio in September.”
Sneed Speed Racing won the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) 2011 Enduro Championship, at Road Atlanta last December. Sneed Speed Racing dominated the series, winning two of the five races in the E-1 Class.
Sneed owns and operates Sneed’s Speed Shop with his brother, Kenneth Sneed. Both Eagle Scouts, they attribute their success to hard work, persistence, and preparation; values that scouting has imbued in them. The Sneed brothers both have degrees in Automotive Racing Performance that complement their lifelong passion for anything mechanical.
Their strategy has paid off. With approximately eight wins – from time trials to enduro races – in the bag in the last two years, these Eagle Scouts aim to soar even higher. “We are trying to run at the next level, so winning the NASA Enduro Championship again would be a great step in our journey,” says Sneed.
