New York, NY. September 6, 2011 - After three years of treating tourists to sought-after Central Park locations, a group of tour guides decided to change the way they do business. Their reorganized tour company offers tours of Central Park that coincide with the sunset. But that's not all that's different. “New York is full of fantastic tour guides. There's no doubt about that,” says James, a tour guide with Central Park Sunset Tours. “But many of them get hired by companies to do hokey tours that have been recycled and barely updated for years. They're full of misinformation and don't really have the guest's best interest in mind.” “In Central Park,” say Matthew, another guide. “I regularly hear tour guides telling people that the Bethesda Fountain was used in the opening shot of Friends. It's simply not true.” “We stopped doing tours in July,” says James. “and sat down and asked ourselves how we could offer better tours. In the end we decided to scrap all the existing tours and start from square one. We've come up with a tour of Central Park which we feel blows all of the others out of the water.”

Central Park Sunset Tours, the company Matt and James now work for, has assembled a tour that shows locations typically seen on a Central Park tour like Tavern on the Green, Wollman Rink, and the Bethesda Fountain, and added other lesser included locations like The Great Lawn, The Central Park Zoo, and The Ramble. The tour has been completely written from scratch by the company's officially licensed New York City tour guides and fact checked for accuracy. “The final touch was to make each tour coincide with the sunset,” James says. “Central Park is a romantic setting. Why shouldn't people see it at the most beautiful time of day?”
