FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Media,
Pennsylvania,
United States of America
(Free-Press-Release.com) September 2, 2010 --CEO Adrian Hoppel today announced the launch of TCJ Publishing, LLC, a cooperative publishing organization headquartered in Media, PA, and operating nationally in a “Results Only Work Environment” (ROWE). TCJ Publishing, LLC will publish The College Journal , a multimedia, digital magazine featuring original art, fiction, films, music and poetry of college students. The College Journal will be marketed nationally to college students, available on the Apple iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, and online in the Fall of 2010.
“TCJ Publishing, LLC, was created by a talented group of publishing industry professionals to produce something really special: The College Journal, a best-in-class magazine featuring the honest, authentic voice of today’s college students,” said Adrian Hoppel, Publisher & CEO of TCJ Publishing, LLC. “Designed specifically for the Apple iPad, The College Journal will provide a platform for our readers to read the newest collegiate fiction and poetry, listen to the hottest college bands, watch edgy films from college filmmakers, and engage with the art of tomorrow’s brightest young artists. It also provides these artists, writers, filmmakers, musicians, and poets an opportunity to be published while still in school and to be paid for their work. Students can submit their work directly through our website, where it will be reviewed by an editorial team of renowned artists, musicians, filmmakers, writers and poets.”
TCJ Publishing, LLC will be organized as an LLC, and will operate as a cooperative, where all staff members are part owners, vote on all company policies, and share in the company’s profits; student contributors will also share in a percentage of the revenue from each issue in which they are published. The company will employ an ROWE; TCJ Publishing, LLC has no formal office, all staff members work according to their own schedules so long as project deadlines are kept.
“This type of organization is not common,” admits Hoppel. “We believe in 2010, the need to keep a large office is no longer necessary. We leverage the amazing technology available today to communicate and stay on timelines, without wasting time, money and resources commuting to and from an arbitrary office address. We trust each other, we are all owners, and we all have our jobs to do. We don’t need to waste time at weekly management meetings discussing the obvious, we don’t need to waste paper printing out presentations and agendas. We all have personal lives that are just as important, if not more important, then what we do to ‘pay the bills’. The College Journal is an opportunity to create something relevant, deliver it on the most advanced technology available, and to do it all in a way that we respect.”
TCJ Publishing, LLC plans to release a sample issue of The College Journal in mid-October, and to release the first full issue featuring the original, creative works of college students on November 1, 2010. At that time, Apple iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch users will be able to download an app for The College Journal through the Apple App Store; PC and Mac subscribers will be able to view the magazine online through www.thecollegejournal.com.
