The Certified Red Flag Specialist™ (CRFS) designation is specifically designed to train and certify individuals responsible for fighting identity theft red flags within entities covered by the Rule such as banks, credit unions, finance companies, automobile dealers, mortgage brokers, utility companies, and telecommunications companies. Individuals who might benefit by becoming a CRFS include oversight members, managers, employees, auditors and employees of organizations that need to implement and manage an identity theft prevention program.

The Red Flag Rule requires all affected companies to develop and implement a written identity theft program to detect, prevent and resolve identity theft cases.
