Changing Legislation Starts the Race to Build Green!
With so much attention on the environment as of late, the United States Green Building Council is now offering awards and incentive grants to organizations spurring existing green building projects. President Obama is asking everyone to focus on building cleaner and building stronger with more than $80 billion in environmental investments that will jump start the economy and create jobs for tomorrow. RASTRA has taken this request to new heights! RASTRA coined the term “Insulated Concrete Form”, a revolutionary building system which offers simplicity in use, quality and strength at an affordable cost. ICF was invented by RASTRA in 1972 and they have been the company behind reliable buildings ever since. As environmentally-conscious builders continue to flourish, RASTRA is racing to meet their demands!
ICF looks like your typical concrete block, but holds so many more advantages. It is ground up Styrofoam mixed with cement that creates this durable product. A 1 ½ foot thick wall insulates better from noise and the elements. RASTRA outperforms wood frame walls in every important category and exceeds today's minimum code requirements by huge margins. In fact, RASTRA has been tested to be over 700% stronger than a wood frame wall. RASTRA also outperforms wood frame walls in other critical areas including cost-of ownership, safety, service life, indoor air quality, comfort and resale value. RASTRA believes we have a clear choice – either continue to accept mediocre energy performance and embarrassing durability or step up and build homes that provide lasting value. The production of RASTRA is considered to be ecologically-clean. Producing one RASTRA panel requires less than 2kWH and at the same time eliminates the need to produce other products including, lumber, insulation, plastic vapor barriers, membrane and wire lath. All production waste is recycled. Today, RASTRA is not only recognized as the original, but also as the best product of any ICF category.
Name any category of building product and it’s a safe bet that green products are available. Some are made from recycled materials - others save energy - some do both. And while every green buying decision is a step in the right direction, some simply make a bigger impact than others. This is especially true in building products, as RASTRA has been proving for years.
RASTRA is considered by many to be the "Holy Grail" of green building materials. They use Styrofoam waste as the primary ingredient of their panel, one of the most challenging materials to dispose of. Styrofoam doesn't decompose and takes up a tremendous amount of landfill space, so finding alternative uses is an important development. Next, building with RASTRA decreases energy consumption by an average 50%, thereby reducing the amount of CO2 being released into the atmosphere by this same amount. A decision to build with RASTRA also saves trees, leaving them to absorb CO2 from the atmosphere.
Although RASTRA has been around for over 35 years, Americans are just now realizing the vast benefits that come from building with ICF and the environmental impact this product has on our future. RASTRA only uses recycled Styrofoam products to produce their materials, thus creating a better place for us to live. Both commercial and residential builders are scrambling to get the corner on this market before waiting lists are too long from the company that invented the product! Our disregard for the environment has to change – we know it and now our government is recognizing it as well! So let's start doing the right thing, not because we're being governed to do so, but because we want to. Contact RASTRA today to become an environmentally conscious builder who uses this product at http://www.RASTRA.com or contact them directly at 866-272-7872.
