Charlotte area makeup artist offers out-of-the-box ideas for portraits.

Cornelius, North Carolina, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) August 21, 2010 -- Danielle Lazaro of Concord, NC, has been a professional makeup artist for 16 years. She works with brides, teens, and local photographers and theaters, among other things. Her newest obsession is bringing character makeup to the masses. She sites engagement portraits as an example:
"Engagement portraits have become a must-have for most brides to be. But not all engaged couples want a classic look. These are photographs that represent who they are as a couple. Some people naturally have really big personalities. I like helping them showcase that side of themselves."

Lazaro thinks that becoming a character not only creates a unique photo shoot, but also helps clients become more comfortable in front of the camera. "When you're playing a part, you tend to relax and forget that the camera is pointed at you" Lazaro says. "It's also a great tool for photographers, because they are able to offer more variety to a potential client. Variety sells."
Lazaro and local photographer Emily Slaughter recently recreated Wonderland. "It was so much fun. And the response we got was amazing. We garnered quite a bit of attention on this shoot!" Lazaro said.
Lazaro's company, Makeup Cupcake (www.makeupcupcake.blogspot.com) and Slaughter's photography business (SouthernStarPhotography.com) have recently been booming. They credit their need for "fun, fantasy and bit of funk" with this development.
