One of the most popular SUVs of all-time is now available in many different trim levels and color choices at the dealership.

For the 2012 model year the Explorer received a complete makeover. The large SUV is now built on a smaller, more agile car frame, rather than the big truck platform of previous years. This allowed Ford to redesign the exterior of the Explorer to give the car a more sporty and aggressive look.

Since its debut earlier this year the Ford Explorer has receive rave reviews from professional car review sites, as well as numerous positive reviews from consumers who were among the first to be able to purchase the all-new SUV.

The new design of the Explorer isn’t only for looks though. The new body shape plays a key role in the increase in fuel economy. The 2012 edition now gets an amazing 28 miles per gallon on the highway. In the coming updates Ford plans to put the incredibly popular EcoBoost engine into the car as well, which should increase fuel economy even more.
