As with anything that is outside, though, solar lights will eventually need repair and maintenance to keep them in good working order. It is important that you have some idea how to fix your broken solar lights. Garden solar lights are not too difficult to fix since most of the problems that will occur are fairly minor and something that is simple to repair.

Dim or No Light

A common issue with solar lights is that they may produce dim light or no light at all. In most cases the reason for this is simply placement of the solar lights. Garden lights are probably not getting enough sunlight exposure to operate at full power. This is easily fixed by moving them to an area with adequate sunlight exposure.

Another possible issue is the battery has gone bad. The batteries used in solar lights are usually long lasting, but they won't last forever. If you have had your lights for quite sometime, then it is very possible that it is time to check the battery.

Broken Stake or Post

A broken stake or post is a common issue with solar lights. Garden solar lights may get moved around a lot which can lead to breaks, or it can just happen with age. Metal posts and stakes will last much longer than plastic solar lights. Garden lights more often have a break when they are plastic solar lights. Garden lights made of metal more often end up with the problem of being bent.

To remedy a broken stake or post you really just have to replace it. Sometimes you can glue it back together with a strong glue made for outdoor use. For metal stakes or posts that are bent you can often just gentle bend them back into shape. If they do happen to break you might be able to repair them or need to completely replace them.
