(Free-Press-Release.com) April 22, 2010 --
Sarah has specially designed a beautiful black Czech crystal and hope charm bracelet in memory of Renee Chiopelas who lost her battle with cancer in January, of which 20% of the proceeds will benefit the Foundation. The black color of the bracelet is symbolic of melanoma awareness and May is National Melanoma/Skin Cancer Awareness month. Visit Chic Gems Couture (ChicGemsCouture.com) and enter the code RENEE while checking out to receive 10% off and donate 20% of your total purchase to the Foundation. The online trunk show will last until May 31, 2010.
The V Foundation started with the dream of Jim Valvano, the passionate and committed former NC State basketball coach and award-winning broadcaster, as he battled cancer. Wanting to see the battle through to victory, Valvano recruited friends and family to lead the V Foundation in his quest to eradicate the disease that ultimately claimed his life. The V Foundation is a charitable organization dedicated to saving lives by helping to find a cure for cancer. The Foundation seeks to make a difference by generating broad-based support for cancer research and by creating an urgent awareness among all Americans of the importance of the war against cancer. The V Foundation performs these dual roles through advocacy, education, fundraising, and philanthropy.
Renee Chiopelas was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic melanoma and fought for 3 long years before she lost her battle and passed away on January 1st of 2010. She was 56 years old. An event ‘The Magic Quarter’ was created in her memory. The event will be held at the Diplomat in Elmhurst, IL on May 8th, 2010. We will have the opportunity to not only remember her life and the woman she was, but to also try to help change the future. It will be an evening of fun, but also to support a great cause. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the V Foundation. The proceeds from this particular event will go to melanoma research. Our goal is to raise as much money as possible to help further research and ultimately to help provide a cure for this disease. With your help, we hope to get closer to that end goal.
