Project: Living Well launches Startup America sponsored campaign to raise funds for new product

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chicago, Illinois, United States of America (Free-Press-Release.com) December 12, 2011 -- Project: Living Well (PLW) has launched a crowdfunding campaign to produce a unique line of products that encourage acts of service. As a sponsored project of Startup America, the 45-day campaign on IndieGoGo (www.indiegogo.com/PLW) will raise funds to produce a wearable Latin American inspired water container, called a Calabash, that the team discovered while drilling a water well for children in rural Nicaragua. The Calabash will be available for purchase in the United States.

Unlike other products, the Calabash comes with a challenge for its buyers to begin “Living Well” by sharing how they would like to make the world a better place, such as serving at a community homeless shelter.

“We’ve discovered that people are really passionate about doing good, and that it can transform communities when they do,” said founder and Chief Inspiration Officer Matt Johnson. “So we’ve set out to create a brand that inspires more moments like these, by creating unique products that require you to commit to do something at the time of purchase. And we’ve been blown away by the response.”

The campaign aims to have 5,000 people back the project and share their stories of good, with rewards including a limited edition digital Commitment Storybook, the Calabash and even an opportunity to travel abroad to meet the communities that inspired the project.

About Project: Living Well
Project: Living Well was founded in 2010 with the mission to inspire at least one million people to begin a journey of Living Well, while providing at least one million people with access to basic needs abroad through the sale of a unique brand of products.

With each Calabash sold, PLW commits to giving at least 20% of profits back to fund global relief efforts. To learn more, please visit www.projectlivingwell.com.
