11-year-old Lizbeth Navar could teach grown-up journalists a thing or two about checkbook journalism. Tonight she'll be the only child reporter to have a one-on-one interview with Mexico's Former President Vicente Fox! She gained this coveted media talk with Vicente by offering him up money from a garage sale she held in his honor.
KID SCOOP MEDIA's international child correspondent Navar is presenting the world leader with a check for the Vicente Fox Center of Studies Library and Museum which will be Mexico's 1st Presidential Library. Modeled after former U.S. President Bill Clinton's post-office museum, Fox, who held the top office in Mexico from 2000-2006 promises, "It will be a center for the advancement of democracy," with records, gifts and documents from his 6-years in office.
Navar and her other pint-sized news hounds sold off everything from clothes, shoes, CDs and backpacks to get the for their latest KID SCOOP!
This isn't the first time KID SCOOP MEDIA has led the pack for prime interviews.
From politicians---President Obama and Congresswoman Karen Bass to Hollywood celebrities, Olympic Gold athletes and most recently time on their own with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, KID SCOOP MEDIA was there.
"It may seem glamorous, but our interviews are not child's play," insists Navar . "We care about helping to create change through curiosity and hope that our young voices will encourage and empower action for better futures for us all--one interview at a time."
Navar plans to ask the former Mexican leader hard-hitting questions such as his reaction to the recent passage in California of the DREAM ACT.
Navar adds: "President Fox's library will be a great resource for history to learn and grow from experiences and policies which affect us all. The internet and social media has made our foreign countries no longer distant relatives. Their issues are our issues-- one way or another."
