Children from Orphanage Homes Benefit From Moneytree’s Financial Literacy Program

(Free-Press-Release.com) October 11, 2011 -- 24 September 2011, Shah Alam – 98 children between ages 9 and 17 from Rumah Titian Kaseh and Rumah Yayasan Sunbeams orphanage homes benefited from a half-day MoneyTree financial literacy program under the sponsorship of AXA’s Hearts in Action CSR Initiative.

The Financial Literacy program was conducted to educate these children about the importance of being Financially Savvy; covering the importance of money, its value, proper money habits and how to protect their wealth with insurance.

Diana, age 11 from Rumah Yayasan Sunbeams said she learnt a lot about the importance of money from this program while her friend Judy, age 11 added that she had a lot of fun. Trivia sessions, where the children answered questions and in return, be rewarded with MoneyTree Currency were included as part of the program to ensure that the children could remember what was taught during the session. This is in line with MoneyTree’s teaching methodology of teaching kids about Money through fun and play activities.

Elveen, age 16 found the program very interesting and enjoyed herself while learning about how to save and spend money properly. In class, teenagers were also introduced to stocks through the stock market simulation.

MoneyTree is an education company which conducts financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs for kids age 6 to 17 years old, undergraduates and youths.
