Chillibreeze is Exclusive Media Partner for Disney’s Children’s Writing Contest

Shillong, Meghalaya, India, Republic of (Free-Press-Release.com) February 21, 2011 -- Chillibreeze proudly announces the launch of Disney’s children’s story writing contest “Pitchkiaow”, for which Chillibreeze has been retained as exclusive media partner. The contest invites Indian writers to pitch their original ideas for a children's story or series. The aim of Pitchkiaow is to encourage and inspire new Indian writers to showcase their creativity and give them a strong platform to bring it all alive.

The contest offers writers the unique opportunity to pitch their story ideas before a distinguished panel of judges at the Disney Expo in India. If their manuscripts are selected, they stand to land a book deal with Disney – a leader in children’s literature, plus a development grant of Rs 50,000.

The writers pitches will be judged by Piyush Pandey, executive chairman & national creative director India and South Asia, Ogilvy & Mather; Rina Mehta, editor, Disney Publishing; and Radhika Meganathan, who will be representing Chillibreeze. Radhika is an award winning children's writer who runs a writing coach program for kids with Chillibreeze. She is the 2004 Indian recipient of the Highlights USA Fellowship for children's writers and the author of the award-winning Golden Mythology series by Seasons Publishing.

Submissions are invited in two categories – stories suitable for children aged 6-10 years and stories appropriate for 10-14 year olds. Entries will be judged on the concept originality and uniqueness.

In the past, Chillibreeze has helped writers get their break with leading publications like India Today Travel Plus in association with whom the company ran a Travel Writing Contest in 2010.
