Chinese mobile retailers rush to get legal IMEI codes from Geek IT Stores

This stands in contrast to the fact that Indian telecom retailers and manufacturers can continue imports of branded and genuine IMEI china mobiles as certified by Directorate General of Customs and Foreign Trade.

The MSAI had initiated the appointment of genuine IMEI implantation centres at 1600 locations nationwide and the deadline for implementation of genuine IMEI was December 1. Telecom providers have approached the government for an extension for IMEI implementation, which has been declined as of now.
