Chip Giant Intel App Store will Set up in China Next Year

With the rapid growth of Apps (Application Service), Chip giant Intel will changed from chip vendor to calculation solution provider gradually. In other words, in the future Intel will not only sell chips, also a software company, and Meego which developed based on its operating system is considered as the typical of the Intel transition. Intel Asia-Pacific partnership and strategic business development department director He Shufen said, based on the Intel Meego operating system software, its App stores will set up in China next year. Tablet PC, net book and other mobile terminals will be the main product in Meego software store.

Compared with tens of thousands of application software in Apple and Android applications store, the fledgling Meego stores need a long term accumulation. What He Shufen think, according to the analysis, the mobile terminal's popular downloads software is in 1000, to this end, Intel will select 1000 applications and optimize in its App stores. China Meego App store will operate through telecom operators or third party partners.

In terms of application software development, according to He Shufen, Intel had cooperated with 4800 software partners in China currently. Intel and Tencent has signed a memorandum of cooperation in the past few days, based on Intel architecture and the Meego operating system to build integration of Tencent mobile service platform.

According to hardware products, the hardware devices which use Meego operating system are gradually increased. Intel cooperated with China's domestic manufacturing company such as ASUS, MSI, Quanta and ect has introduced some products. However, He Shufen also said the industry chain based on Meego needs a longer time to grow.
