Why is ore broken? Why don't we choose ore in small particle size in industrial production directly? This is actually a very good idea. We can fikd ore in standard particle size directly that is free from crushing processes and put the ore into production. With the way, it can save a mount of time, money and labor force. However, the ides is not realistic.
Ore exploited from the mining of mineral is called raw ore or crude ore. Crude ore consists of mineral raw ores and the gangue. The largest particle size of crude ore come out from open mine mining is in commonly 200 to 1300 mm, while that come out from underground ore mining is in commonly 200 to 600 mm. these undressed ore can not directly used in the industry application, but it must pass a broken and grinding work to make the particle size meet the prescribed requirements. And now in the general cement plant, quarry plant or construction base, the needed material has special requirements. The stone just developed out of mining colony is not in substandard grain size and eligible type, and some even has impurities mixed. So the stone must be gone through a series of processes, and after that the stone can be chosen to use.
A crusher is a machine designed to reduce large rocks into smaller rocks, gravel, or rock dust. Crushers may be used to reduce the size, or change the form, of waste materials so they can be more easily disposed of or recycled, or to reduce the size of a solid mix of raw materials (as in rock ore), so that pieces of different composition can be differentiated. Crushing is the process of transferring a force amplified by mechanical advantage through a material made of molecules that bond together more strongly, and resist deformation more, than those in the material being crushed do.
In industry, crushers are machines which use a metal surface to break or compress materials. Mining operations use crushers, commonly classified by the degree to which they fragment the starting material, with primary and secondary crushers handling coarse materials, and tertiary and quaternary crushers reducing ore particles to finer gradations. Each crusher is designed to work with a certain maximum size of raw material, and often delivers its output to a screening machine which sorts and directs the product for further processing. In operation, the raw material (of various sizes) is usually delivered to the primary crusher's hopper by dump trucks, excavators or wheeled front-end loaders. A feeder device such as an apron feeder, conveyor or vibrating grid controls the rate at which this material enters the crusher, and often contains a preliminary screening device which allows smaller material to bypass the crusher itself, thus improving efficiency. Primary crushing reduces the large pieces to a size which can be handled by the downstream machinery.
