January 27, 2012, Fort Worth, TX: Today, Julie B. Cosgrove announced the release of a new contemporary, faith-based novel set in the Texas Hill Country called FOCUSED. The novel is available exclusively on Kindle and in paperback through Amazon.com as part of the Kindle Direct Pub campaign.
“They offer a great marketing and royalties package if you publish exclusively with Kindle and Amazon for 90 days. I had fired the original publisher for inactivity after having my manuscript for 13 months,” stated Christian author and speaker Julie B Cosgrove. “I got Kindle Publishing’s email three hours after I’d made that decision. I knew it was the direction to go. God’s hand was all over this.”
A heartwarming and humorous story set in the Texas Hill Country, FOCUSED journeys with two empty nesters, Christina and Jeff ,as they each re-examine their fidelity, their own feelings and their faith. FOCUSED, according to the back cover, speaks to every woman facing an empty nest, life after parents, or the humdrum rat-race existence of the working wife who watches her prince charming develop a paunch and an attitude.
“The title is an allegory for the main character’s decision to finally get trifocals that fit. Like her life, her old glasses made things out of focused, “ Cosgrove explained. “With her new glasses, her world, and her relationships begin to become clearer. She also sees God is still in the middle of her empty nest and her life still has purpose.”
The fiction novel has touching and funny moments sprinkled throughout the journey one woman takes as she adjusts to the inevitable changes in her life. But when her once high school beau, now divorced and jobless, moves into her son’s old room, Texas Hospitality is stretched to its limit. The novel depicts the vents from both Christina and Jeff, her husband’s point of view.
Cosgrove has wriiten three Bible studies, a devotional book ans articles for publications such as Chicken Soup for the Soul, The Upper Room's magazines, Good News Daily and The Secret Place. Shre regualrly writes for several women's websites.
The book may be ordered for $2.99 in Kindle format or $13.99 in paperback on Amazon or through the author’s website at www.juliebcosgrove.com, where the prologue and first chapter can be read before purchasing.
