The Reno, NV resident's new single “One Heart, One Voice,” has debuted at No. 81 on New Music Weekly’s Country Chart this week, not far behind Jason Aldean, Kellie Pickler and Rascall Flatts. Stosic’s upbeat and inspirational tune is a cut off his CD of the same title, which he released in early September.

“I’ve never heard of anything like this happening,” said Stosic. “But it’s nice to know that country radio is embracing my song and its message of hope and unity.”

Inspired by a vision for change, Stosic is using his “One Heart, One Voice” CD as a vehicle to raise money to provide food and clothing to the people of Africa. To that end, he will be contributing a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the project to a special fund he has set up with the Reno-based River Christian Church. “In the Bible, God talks to us about doing the works of righteousness and justice in the land,” said Stosic, former host of the TBN program, “Symphony of Praise.” “And to me that means providing food for the hungry and clothing for the needy. “That what my music and ministry are all about, as well as to teach the people of Africa how to be self-suststaining.”

Rod Halecky, pastor of River Christian Church, said he and his congregation are prepared to do everything they can to help Stosic achieve his goal.

“We share in Michael’s vision and are completely behind his effort to help inspire and transform the African community,” said Halecky. “And we not only want to help provide relief services there, but also give the people a new vision and direction for their lives.”

Since 1986, Stosic has been steadily building a worldwide audience through his live performances, Web site and radio airplay. He has released six CDs, all of which have brought him International recognition. His 2007 project, “Remember The Cross” landed at No. 48 on the prestigious Gospel Music National Top 100 Chart. Stosic’s debut single from the CD, “Remember The Cross,” landed at No. 5 on the Hot A/C Mainstream Charts, which are tracked by The Spins Tracking System and New Music Weekly’s online magazine.

Stosic hopes his new CD, “One Heart, One Voice” will have the same, positive impact as his former projects. He describes the songs on it as upbeat and soul-lifting with a breezy, island feel.

“I’ve been saying that this album sounds a lot like Jimmy Buffett, except for the Christian messages,” said Stosic. “I wanted to create something different than what I’ve done before in the hopes it would appeal to cultures all around the world. I think this particular sound is very universal.”

With all that Stosic has achieved in the music industry, he said he remains focused on his mission to bring God’s words of love, encouragement and comfort through his songs of worship and praise.

“My goal isn’t to become famous, but to help as many as I can through my music,” said Stosic, who raised enough money in 2007 to provide 286,000 meals in Zimbabwe, Africa. “Getting the name of the Lord out there is first and foremost. And whatever platform God grants me to do that, I will use.”

Stosic is currently preparing to leave for a six-week missionary trip to Africa later this month. He said he is setting his sights on raising enough money in the coming months to provide 500,000 meals for the citizens of South Africa.
