The Jeff Scheetz Band will perform its sixth Christmas Concert for the Animals
benefit concert to fund local Kansas City area animal charities on Monday, December 21st at 7:00pm at the Uptown Theater, 3700 Broadway in Kansas City, Missouri. This year’s event is sponsored by Paw Prints Magazine, Pawz at Play, and Brookside Barkery and Bath.
According to the Jeff Scheetz Band website, “All money after the expense of the venue goes to local animal charities, so it is a great cause at a time of year where sometimes our 4-legged friends get forgotten about.” Proceeds from the concert will benefit Spay and Neuter Kansas City, Friends of Parkville Animal Shelter, Humane Society of Greater Kansas City, and HELP Humane Society. All of the organizations are based in the Kansas City area and work to improve the lives of animals throughout the metro area.
The show is for all ages, featuring rock and roll Christmas music and some Jeff Scheetz Band original songs. Dennis Laffoon from Shooting Star and other special guests will also sit in with the band throughout the show.
“This show is the only animal-related fundraiser of its kind in the KC metro area, and it’s really different than other events we see throughout the year,” said Stacy Smith, Managing Partner of Paw Prints Magazine. “So many of us support animal-related charities throughout the year with jogs, walks, barks in parks, auctions, galas, and more which do so much good for so many animals that need our help. But the Christmas Concert for Animals gives us a chance to really celebrate the season, rock-out, and have a truly memorable time that makes you say, ‘I had a blast and can’t wait for next year.’ All while helping the animals.”
Tickets are $15 each, and children 12 and under are admitted for free. Tickets will be available at the door and can be purchased ahead of time at any Ticketmaster outlet or online. Concert-goers are also encouraged to bring a donation of pet food, pet toys, or other pet supplies for both dogs and cats.
“When deciding what to donate, you may want to check the wish lists on the charity websites, and remember that donations don’t need to be fancy,” said Smith. “Also, both the Brookside Barkery and Bath and Pawz at Play will be offering a discount on any food purchases that will be used for a donation, so that’s another good reason to stop by one of
their locations.”
Monetary donations can be made on the event website, www.jeffscheetz.com/christmasconcert.htm. The band and sponsors also ask for help in spreading the word about the event through social media and by printing and distributing
flyers available on the website.
