CICS White Paper for Looming Aviation Emissions Deadline

(Free-Press-Release.com) December 22, 2009 -- The message from aviation CO2 emissions specialist CICS is that many airlines still have much work to do to meet important forthcoming EU deadlines.

The European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) will commence a cap-and-trade system for aviation CO2 emissions in 2010, with full trading beginning in 2012.

This means that by January 2010, all airlines flying in and out of the EU need to begin monitoring their CO2 emissions, and be ready to have this data verified and reported by March 31st 2011.

To help get to grips with the legislation, CICS has produced a white paper entitled “Emissions Verification in the Aviation Sector”.

CICS director Shaun Bainbridge commented:
