JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – (Friday, Dec. 23) The homeless and needy population of Jacksonville will have an extra opportunity to receive a warm meal this Christmas weekend. City Rescue Mission will host their annual Great Christmas Banquet on Friday, Dec. 23 from 12:00-3:00pm at their location on 234 W State St. Special services will begin at 10:00a with entertainers, praise and worship, and a sermon.

This year City Rescue Mission will also be handing out Shoeboxes of Love, the annual drive to collect items for the homeless wrapped in a shoebox from members of the Jacksonville community. Boxes will be distributed as each guest leaves, along with a coat to keep them warm this winter season.

*All press are welcome and encouraged to attend.* It’s a terrific opportunity to share stories of good news during the Christmas season. This year’s banquet is being held on Friday to extend the season of Christmas for those less fortunate on the streets of Jacksonville.
