Classical Connect launches the new Interviews channel

(Free-Press-Release.com) September 23, 2009 -- Classical Connect (http://www.classicalconnect.com), the free classical music performance web site, greatly expands the site’s textual content by publishing Bruce Duffie’s interviews with leading musicians and composers. Mr. Duffie, a former producer of WNIB, a Chicago classical music station which broadcast from 1955 to 2001, has conducted hundreds of interviews with some of the most interesting musicians of our time. His penetrating conversations cover a variety of topics, from developments in modern music to different aspects of interpretation.

Classical Connect will be publishing interviews with musicians whose compositions or performances are featured on the site. In addition to publishing texts of the interviews, Classical Connect plans to also broadcast (podcast) the audio files.

While the interview with Elliott Carter is the first one to be published, interviews with composers Easley Blackwood, Aaron Jay Kernis, Lowell Liebermann, George Flynn, and Shulamit Ran will follow in the near future. Also scheduled are interviews with the violinist Jennifer Koh and pianist Ursula Oppens.

Classical Connect is continually expanding its features and adding new artists, composers, and performances. Classical Connect allows performers and composers to upload full performances and helps them expand their fan base by letting all classical music fans listen completely free on the site. The service also provides a way for fans to comment and connect with the performers as well as discuss the music.
