http://clearwatercommunityvolunteers.org The Hunt happened at 12:30 pm sharp and was over in minutes. Organizers had urged: "Be there on time because when thousands of kids race across the grass to gather up over 25,000 candy-filled eggs, the whole thing is over within a matter of minutes." And that is exactly what happened. In 5 minutes flat, under the beautiful Clearwater sky, every last one of the 25,000 eggs had been gathered by the hunters.
The event for children 16 and under started with the race to find the most Easter eggs, candy, and of course, 250 of those famous Golden Eggs. Every child who found a Golden Egg received a stuffed bunny. There were two areas fenced off just for the little ones so they would be out of the mad scramble of their larger friends.
In addition to the main event, there were pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, rides on the “Bunny Express”, special entertainment, a giant inflatable slide and two bouncy houses - one for kids and one for tots. The Easter Bunny and his Mrs. wandered around making themselves available for photos with the kids!
The annual event is free and everyone was welcome. Children were asked to bring their Easter Basket or a bag to use while collecting their eggs and parents brought cameras for the many photo opportunities.
