Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce Seeks to Improve Local Business

Clearwater, FL, July 7, 2009 -- The Clearwater Regional Chamber of Commerce (CRCC) announced its 2009 Summer Business to Business Expo coming up this Thursday, July 9th. Sponsored by the St. Petersburg Times and Homeowner's Choice Insurance, and represented by 7 local area chambers, the B2B Expo will showcase local area businesses in order to provide our member businesses an opportunity to display their services to other chamber area members. Our philosophy is "ABC" (Always Buy Chamber). The event will be held Thursday, July9th from 5-7:30 p.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater.
Bob Clifford, President of the CRCC, was recently quoted in the St. Pete Times saying that being involved in the Chamber means looking for new strategies to carry out the chamber's core job of fostering business opportunities. To Clifford, that means offering seminars and tools that will really be useful to businesses struggling through a recession.

"We have to go outside the box. It's no longer just cocktails and networking," Clifford said. Clifford went on to say that making business contacts is more crucial than ever. "This is not the time to bury your head in the sand," he said. "You need to be visible in the community. [Chambers] are more important today than we were five years ago."
The event will be hosted by the Chambers of Commerce from Clearwater; Clearwater Beach; Dunedin; Palm Harbor; Safety Harbor; Tarpon Springs and Upper Tampa Bay/Oldsmar. Some, but not all, of the other presenting sponsors are: Regions Bank, Carlisle Fields, Bright House and Ruth Eckerd Hall.
