The Hague, June 2011 - UDOCX (Unified DOCument eXchange) is the first cloud-based document processing service that adds functionality to MFP devices and connects them to Microsoft Office 365 without the need of additional add-on hardware or software.
UDOCX brings new and enhanced features to existing MFP devices that were not possible before, i.e. scan-to-email, scan-to-fax, scan-to-SharePoint and online printing. Through the combination of Office 365 and UDOCX, users can work more efficiently, save costs on licenses and contribute to environmental protection.
The strength of UDOCX comes from its simplicity of usage. Users can easily accomplish common workflow tasks in UDOCX from the MFP just as they would from their desktop. Users log in via the browser of the MFP using their standard Windows credentials resulting in fast and secure authentication with no administrator intervention required.
With Fenestrae UDOCX, Office 365 users can scan documents from any multi-functional peripheral directly to SharePoint and MySite. “Documents get recognized automatically, indexed and stored into the correct folder. There is no need for separate scanning or OCR software. Furthermore, UDOCX adds Outlook to the MFP: documents can be sent directly via email or fax.” says Eric van Beek, Vice President at Fenestrae.
UDOCX not only stores information but sends it securely and helps organizations maintain regulatory compliance. The system offers users direct access to their personal contacts so that messages are always addressed correctly. Email and fax messages that are sent to multiple addresses by UDOCX are processed and confirmations are sent to the user’s inbox. Everything that the user does is monitored and recorded by a central logging system for security and accountability.
The uniqueness of UDOCX is that there is no need for separate software or hardware, no maintenance, and no additional administrative workload.
Currently UDOCX supports MFP’s from Xerox and Ricoh. “With UDOCX we integrate Xerox MFP’s with Office 365 without the need of extra hard or software. From the MFP our clients can use the solution to securely scan documents, store them into SharePoint, send them (fax and email) and print them” says Gerard Kruijt, Business Manager Xerox Netherlands.
In conjunction with the launch of Office 365, UDOCX now officially supports these cloud-based environments just as it did with BPOS and hosted Exchange previously. On-premise Exchange and SharePoint are also supported individually or in any combination with cloud-based servers.
