The Ravenel Medical Center (RMC) School for Certified Nursing Assistants is now credentialed by the South Carolina State Department of Health and Human Services to open it's doors as a learning institute for CNAs; Certified Nursing Assistants.
The Ravenel Medical Center School for Medical Assistants is based on the concept of integrity, a sense of responsibility, self-discipline which is inherent to the profession of Nursing Assistants.

* A Certified Nursing Assistant is a very important member of the health care team.
* It's mandatory that all CNA professionals have the proper training and work under the direction of a
nurse (RN or LPN/LVN).
* CNA's provide hands on nursing care to patients, residents, clients, and customers in a variety of health care settings.
* CNA's assist with bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and the oral care of patients who can't do these tasks alone.
The CNA is also the person who gets the vital signs, weight and height measurements.
The RMC will conduct two classes per day with one starting from 8 to 12, and the second starting from 6 to 10pm. Monday through Friday. The total classroom, CPR and clinical time will equal approximately 90 hours.
The Ravenel Medical Center School For Certified Nursing Assistants follows the South Carolina Nurse's Aid Curriculum.
About Curtis Inabinett, Jr., Executive Director/Echocardiographer
Executive Director of the RMC, Curtis Inabinett, Jr., was certified as a Phlebotomy Technician in 1984 by the National Phlebotomy Association. In 1989 completed training at the Arizona Heart Institute and became a Certified Echocardiographer. After graduation started Cardiac Imaging & Sound Mobile Echocardiography Service and became the first totally Independent Cardiac Sonographer in the State of South Carolina .
Cardiac Imaging & Sound held contracts at four different hospitals and operated in conjunction with the Medical University of SC Adult Cardiology Outreach Programs for 16 years. In 2006 Curtis completed course work from Kennedy Western University and was awarded a BS Degree in Health Administration.
Curtis holds memberships in the National Association of Echocardiography, American Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
According to the Executive Director, Curtis Inabinett, Jr., "Getting this facility ready and fully certified with the State of South Carolina had been a labor of sweat, tears, and...love for well over three years".
"The Ravenel Medical Center (RMC) was certified on April 18, 2007 by the South Carolina Secretary of State as a Medical Practice. The ultimate goal is to serve our fast growing community and provide health care services to the residents of lower Charleston County. Currently the closest Physician office is in the West Ashley area of Charleston."
RMC has Dr. Gail Rearden, who specializes in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. Dr. Rearden received her Degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the John Hopkins University/Sinai Hospital in Baltimore Maryland. She completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at John Hopkins Hospital.
Dr. Rearden is board certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine, and will see patients at the RMC on Wednesdays from 2 PM to 5 PM, Thursdays from 2 PM to 5 PM and Fridays from 9 AM to 3 PM.
"On July 27, 2009 the RMC School for Certified Nursing Assistants was credentialed by the South Carolina State Department of Health and Human Services to open it's doors as a learning institute. The school will train Nursing Assistants and Phlebotomy Students. The Practice has two highly trained Instructors who will teach all necessary components of the profession. "
Mr. Inabinett states, "The RMC sits on a beautiful 2.5 acre tract of land that's surrounded by beautiful large grand oak trees. It is located just off the north bound lane of Savannah Highway 17 in Ravenel. The two story RMC is fully equipped and ready for a Physician to step in and start seeing patients. The building has two exam rooms, a waiting room, two restrooms, physician's office, two Ultrasound Machines and a EKG Machines. The lab is also certified."
The entire RMC Team is hoping that the grand opening of the facility will genuinely assist the people of Lower Charleston County, South Carolina. By training in Allied Health Sciences at the Ravenel Medical Center, it may present new certified CNAs opportunities all around the state including Ravenel, Moncks Corner, Charleston, North Charleston, the Midlands, the Upstate, and private duty practice.
