Six professional coaching bodies, two training providers and one book publisher are showcasing their offerings and products at Coaching at Work’s first conference since its editor bought out the magazine from the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development.

Delegates are gathering today at the British Psychological Society’s offices in London to hear speakers including Alex Linley, founder of CAPP, who draws on the latest insights from positive psychology and strengths research; Mark McKergow on solution-focused coaching at Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, and Anne Scoular, co-founder of Meyler Campbell and Geoff Bird, neuroscientist at Birkbeck College, who will share the latest findings in neuroscience and explore what they mean for coaching. Other presenters including Jackie Keddy, formerly of the Metropolitan Police, on leading change from within; Aboodi Shabi, head of coaching and training at Newfield Europe, on the art of ontological coaching; Michael Chaskalson on mindfulness and resilience; Jennifer Liston-Smith on transition to parenthood; Jenny Plaister-Ten on cross-cultural coaching, and Lis Merrick on cross-cultural mentoring.
A panel will explore boundaries between coaching and therapy and whether there is a third way. Panellists include Stephen Palmer, Jenny Rogers, Caroline Horner and Linda Aspey.

International Academy for Professional Development
