Town Hall Tavern Launches New Cocktail Menu with a Bang
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 31, 2011 --
Timothy Taylor owned gastro-pub Town Hall Tavern gave Leeds residents an exclusive preview of its new cocktail menu, created by the region's top mixologists, over the bank holiday weekend with a cocktail party to showcase the varied and alternative new drinks menu.
'A Night of Dishonourable Intentions' on August 27th saw Town Hall Tavern filled with excited Leeds cocktail lovers who were impressed with the gastro-inspired mixes, proving award winning Keighley brewery Timothy Taylor is not only a specialist in cask ales, but is making it's mark on the Leeds cocktail scene.
Guests enjoyed one of a kind mixes with apt names such as Juror's Relief, Gin Adjudication, Disorder in Court and Lady Justice to name a few. They were also encouraged to get creative and suggest new mixes for the staff to create using a selection of quality spirits, liqueurs, fresh fruits and even sweets and chocolates.
The most popular cocktails proved to be 'Disorder in Court' – a trifle of peach, cherry and cranberry whipped together with white chocolate spirit, and topped with citrus foam and powdered nutmeg, as well as The Paddington – Vodka infused with orange marmalade mixed with elderflower liqueur, lemon juice and cranberry.
The event showcased the new cocktail menu created by General Manager and former Australian Bar Tender of the Year nominee Mat Atkinson and Training and Development Consultant Nick Ord of Fluid Dynamics, whose creative cocktail ideas see him regularly appointed by bars all over the world to develop one of a kind mixes.
The full Town Hall Tavern team has undergone vigourous cocktail training since the venue's re-launch in May to ensure it rivals its Leeds cocktail competitors in flavour, innovation and mixology.
Town Hall Tavern will host its next event on 11th October – a rum soiree in conjunction with Latitude Wines and Spirits where guests will be invited to sample a range of rums with complimented mixers. For more information visit www.townhalltavernleeds.co.uk/events or www.facebook.com/townhalltavern
The new cocktail menu and party theme of 'dishonourable intentions' makes reference to the venue's heritage. Dating back to 1926, Town Hall Tavern, situated opposite the law courts and behind Park Square, traditionally was a venue used by solicitors who would sit on one side of the pub preparing for their cases, with the accused making the most of what could have been their last moments of freedom, drinking on the other side.
Town Hall Tavern General Manager Mat Atkinson said: “It was great to welcome so many of Leeds' cocktail drinkers through the door and give them an exclusive preview of the new menu. We gained excellent positive feedback on the new menu and it was great to see guests getting creative and testing the Town Hall Tavern team with some weird and wonderful creations.”
“The cocktail market is heavily saturated in Leeds so we appreciate we need to offer drinkers something extra special to make an impact on the scene and we believe the new menu provides this. Our next event - the Rum Soiree will be something completely different again and we'll be releasing more details about what guests can expect from this over the coming weeks.”
Historical venue Town Hall Tavern underwent a major refurbishment in May this year re-opening as a contemporary gastro-pub offering home-cooked locally sourced food by head chef Anton Scoones, formerly of the 5* Du Vere Oulton Hall Hotel and The General Tarleton in North Yorkshire. He has recently expanded the menu and the pub now serves brunch on Saturdays from 10am – 12pm, serving hot and cold breakfasts, freshly ground coffee and speciality teas with free papers and wi-fi provided.
