May 26, 2010 – Coconut Avenue, Inc. (coconutavenue.com) is pleased to announce the release of its first book: "SEVEN LETTERS THAT SAVED MY LIFE" by Dottie Lessard on May 26, 2010.

Dottie Lessard is an amazing survivor. Born with the heart of an athlete but suffering from cystic fibrosis, Dottie Lessard underwent a 12-hour, life-saving bi-lateral lung transplant. Just before her operation, Dottie could barely breathe and could not take more than a few steps without being physically exhausted. Twice during the operation her heart stopped. Even though she was able to run the transplant medications affected her kidneys. After a year and a half on dialysis, she was forced to undergo additional surgery for a kidney transplant.

Dottie fought her way through all this surgery and recovery not only become an athlete, but a professional athlete currently under contract with NIKE. Her story has been featured on television and radio including HBO and Magic 106.7 in Boston and many different magazines including, Runner's World, Fitness, Experience Life and newspapers including USA Today and the Boston Herald.

Dottie has carried the Olympic Torch and her story was followed on HBO Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. Dottie is a testament to what determination, a strong spirit, a little stubbornness, and a little luck can do. Dottie uses her knowledge and personal experiences to help encourage and educate others who are dealing with their own obstacles in life.

"SEVEN LETTERS THAT SAVED MY LIFE" takes us on Dottie's moving journey from conquering debilitating illness to literally climbing mountains with transplanted lungs.
