(Free-Press-Release.com) January 16, 2012 -- Lyle E. Schmidt, 78, of Wisconsin, faces one count of vehicular homicide, a first degree misdemeanor. Schmidt was arrested and arraigned Friday in Oregon Municipal Court before being released without bond.

Cody Van Hersett, 16, was killed Thursday afternoon when his Dodge pickup truck, traveling west on Navarre Avenue, collided with the trailer of Schmidt's semi tractor-trailer turning left onto northbound Wynn Road. Police believe Schmidt failed to yield when turning left at a green light, causing the collision.
