Collegeville and King of Prussia, PA Orthodontist, Dr. Adam Weiss, to visit area schools for Dental Health Month

Each year, the month of February is designated as National Children's Dental Health month. In order to get the message out, Dr. Adam Weiss visits multiple area schools to have a discussion with the students on this topic. Primarily visiting 4th grade classes, Dr. Weiss reviews the importance of daily oral hygiene efforts. According to Weiss, "this age group is very receptive and interested in why good oral hygiene is so important. I emphasize how these oral care responsibilities are not a once a week deal, but a daily effort." After reviewing with the students about the importance of brushing and flossing, Dr. Weiss enters into a discussion on the hazards of tobacco use. "This age group is not too young to start learning about the dangers of tobacco addiction", says Weiss. "I show the students some graphic photos depicting what chewing tobacco can do to oral health. I want to make it easier for them to 'say no' if given the opportunity to use these products." The presentation,which lasts about 45 minutes, ends with a short video and a question and answer period.

This year, Dr. Weiss will be visiting primarily 4th grade classes at: Audubon Elementary, Skippack Elementary, Renaissance Academy, Arrowhead Elementary, Conshocken Catholic, Evergreen Elementary, St. Elenor's, Mother of Divine Providence, Oaks Elementary, Schwenksville Elementary, PV South Elementary, Upper Merion Middle School, Worcester Elementary, and Eagleville Elementary.
