Commissioner Stan Watson Provides Forum to Address Critical Community Issues, February 16, 2012

Stan Watson is pleased to present the 2nd annual Soul of DeKalb-Reflections of Our Progress. Panel members include elected officials, community leaders and concerned citizens.
Decatur, GA January 26, 2012: Stan Watson, Super District 7 Commissioner Stan Watson is pleased to present to part one of the “Soul of DeKalb-Reflections of Our Progress” to the citizens of DeKalb County. The event will feature a series of panel guests in a discussion that revisits last year’s State of DeKalb. This is a collaborative effort to bring leaders and citizens together to share personal insight on critical quality of life issues that continue to impact those who work and live in DeKalb. Part two of this series will be held on June 25, 2012.
Topics covered in the Soul of DeKalb-Reflections of Our Progress include:
· Economic Development · Political Aspect
· Education · Faith Based Community
· Healthcare · Future of DeKalb
· Community Partnerships and Resources
The event will be held at the Porter Sanford III Performing Arts and Community Center on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 6:30 P.M. To 8:30 P.M. The address is 3181 Rainbow Drive, Decatur, GA 30034. A reception will follow the presentation. The purpose of the event continues the Commissioner’s vision to inspire leaders and citizens to collectively work together to raise awareness, generate community support and collaborate on ways to be proactive verses reactive in stabilizing and improving the lives of those who call DeKalb County home. We anticipate between 150 and 200 attendees.
This is another example of Commissioner Watson’s commitment to “Working for DeKalb, Working for Communities, Working for YOU".
