Computer repair services dot net launched a little over a month ago. Now the site also has a Facebook page, where the visitor can find the latest news from the main site as well as get access to a comprehensive video tutorial on DIY computer repair.
- Facebook being the number one social platform right now, we of course wanted to have an active presence there as well, says site editor Mathew Opiola.
- So much of our day to day activities are dependent on computers, and when they break down quite a few people are genuinely at a loss for what to do next. Not to mention the frustration computer problems generally cause.
Besides serving as a sub-portal of the main site, the new Facebook page also features entirely new and unique content - in the form of two video tutorials on computer repair.
Both videos are provided for free, but in order to view them the user has to be logged in to Facebook and "like" the computer repair page. By also leaving a comment on the page, it is possible to unlock even more free content.
The meat and potatoes of the free video tutorials is an about 20 minutes long introduction to installing and/or replacing hardware. It covers how to identify the various internal components of an average desktop computer and how these parts are added or removed. Several of the common mistakes and pitfalls the DIY computer repairer might encounter are also covered.
- When it comes to dealing with computer hardware many users wrongly assume that it is something that should always be left to the professional. While these introductory videos by no means turn the average person into a computer repair specialist, they do show that there is a lot that can be done in the comfort of your own how and that there are instances where this will be the most affordable way to fix the PC, Opiola summarizes.
As the videos on the Facebook page are done in collaboration with a company that offers a complete video course on the topic of DIY computer repair, interested viewers have the option to learn even more about the topic.
