Buffalo--Dr. Jill Rowland, candidate for The House of Representatives in the 28th district of New York, responded today to a Rochester Democrat and Chronicle interview with Louise Slaughter by Richard Tyson. Mrs. Slaughter said she has not heard from Jill Rowland about a debate.

Jill Rowland is sending a letter and personal invitation to Representative Slaughter on September 23, 2010 to meet for two public moderated debates which are to include a town hall meeting segment for the people of Western New York to interview the candidate to decide which person they want to hire to represent them in Washington.

Dr. Rowland is challenging Mrs. Slaughter to a minimum of one public debate in Rochester, and one in Buffalo. If this invitation is not responded to in three (3) days, Dr. Rowland will visit Mrs. Slaughter’s offices with constituents of the 28th district to deliver formal invitations to these debates. Rowland plans a trip to Slaughter's Washington office to personally invite her to these planned debates.

The Bob Lonsberry Show on WHAM 1180 AM in Rochester has also offered the Rowland campaign to host a radio call in style debate with Mrs. Slaughter.
