CONNECTICUT'S NFCAR NAMES 2009 AFFILIATE OF THE YEAR, JAMES PHILIPAKOS

(Free-Press-Release.com) November 13, 2009 -- James A. Philipakos, Sherman resident, and mortgage originator with Bank of America Home Loans in Danbury, has been named 2009 Affiliate of the Year by NFCAR, the Northern Fairfield County Association of REALTORS®, Inc. (www.nfcar.com). The Award was presented to Philipakos on September 16th at the Tarrywile Mansion in Danbury during NFCAR’s quarterly meeting. The Award was given “with appreciation and sincere gratitude for services rendered to the real estate profession in 2009.”

NFCAR’s 2009 Affiliate of the Year Award also recognized Philipakos for his continual service with the Women’s Council of Realtors as a member since 2006. During the past three years, he has served on Council’s scholarship committee 2006-2009, planning committee during 2009, and he helped organize the summer gathering in 2008. He 2010, he will head public relations ambitions for the Council.

Throughout 2009, Philipakos has been a top producer for the Danbury Bank of America Home loans branch with over 100 closed loans, and $25,000,000.00 in closed loan volume. During the first and second quarters of 2009, he was recognized as the “Most Notable Networker” from the Bethel Bobcats Chapter of BNI – Business Network Intl. He was also the “Most Notable Networker” in 2008, and is the Chapter’s new vice president for 2010. During 2008, he was the Chapter’s secretary/treasurer, and served as membership committee chair and on the Education Committee during 2009.

Philipakos has also served on the non-profit Danbury Westerners organization as a member of board of directors since 2006. He served as fundraising manager 2006-2009, and served on the Golf Committee during June 2009 where half of the proceeds were donated to the American Red Cross Northern Fairfield County. He volunteered his time during the 2009 Chili Cook Off, Taste of Danbury 2009, and participated in numerous sports games throughout the his years of service.

A member of the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce since 2007, Philipakos has served several years on the Gala Committee, with proceeds donated to Brookfield Social Services. In 2008, he volunteered at Special Olympics softball tournament at Rodgers Park as game announcer and score keeper. During 2009, he participated in a painting project for United Way through the Child Advocacy Center of Danbury.
