Contract Cars announces Porsche Cayman for leasing in UK

The Cayman is typical of all Porsche models - A blend of aggressive styling, luxury and advanced handling. This new mid-engine sports car is only available in solid black and features a monochrome treatment with a black body and black-painted 19-inch Boxster Spyder design wheels. Normally contrasting trim pieces from the Cayman S are also painted for a uniform look: the side air intake grilles are painted black, as are the twin exhaust tailpipes and the model designation on the rear deck lid.

With its larger and more powerful 3.4-liter, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine and its lightweight but extremely rigid chassis riding on a nimble suspension, the 2006 Porsche Cayman S sets the benchmark in the two-seat sports coupe category.

This look, cultivated by Porsche Design, imparts additional luxury and class on the Cayman S: the black leather and Alcantara upholstery harmonizes with refined details such as the instrument dials, the layout of which reflects that of all Porsche Design chronographs. Even the center console, dashboard, and door trims glisten in black, while the three-spoke sports steering wheel, the gear lever, the handbrake grip, and the roof lining are clothed in non-slip black Alcantara. The Porsche logo (crest) is embossed on the headrests.

Like the other Black Editions, the Cayman S Black Edition combines Porsche's popular option packages to deliver additional value to customers. The Convenience package, also standard, includes Bi-Xenon headlights with dynamic cornering function, auto-dimming interior and exterior mirrors, rain sensor and automatic climate control.

The new Cayman Sports Coupe is powered by a 2.7-litre boxer engine featuring VarioCam Plus valve management. Maximum output of this six-cylinder power unit is 245 bhp or 180 kW, with torque peaking at 273 Newton-metres or 201 lb-ft between 4600 and 6000 rpm. With its five-speed manual gearbox, the Cayman accelerates to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and has a top speed of 258 km/h or 160 mph. Featuring Tiptronic S, Porsche's mid-engined Sports Coupe accelerates to 100 km/h in 7 seconds and has a top speed of 253 km/h or 157 mph.
