This two-day Level II COR Refresher course provides an opportunity to earn either the standard 16 CLP credits (for in class work) up to a maximum of 20 CLP credits based on a newly added optional outside homework requirement that each attendee is given the option of performing. The homework assignment will grant up to 4 additional credit hours after researching, analyzing and writing a short 1 page book report on two contracting/business integrity articles provided in class by the instructor on the first day of class. Students that complete the book report will receive a certificate for 20 CLP credits, while students that do not will only receive a certificate for 16 CLP credits. This workshop provides an overview of basic COR duties and responsibilities (1 hour), procurement integrity rules and ethical issues (2 hours), contract administration (1 hour), performance monitoring (1 hour), information on intellectual property (IP) (2 hours), Market Research (3 hours), writing a PWS (2 hours), developing and understand RFPs (2 hours), Contract Record Retention (2 hours). Sufficient time is provided for student’s time to ask questions and receive answers. This course is designed to improve a COR, management or program analyst’s understanding of government contracting.

Learning Objectives are:

• Learned about ethics and business integrity rules.
• Identify and understand the process for development of a PWS and an RFP
• Recognize what is required in performing market analysis and reporting.
• Identify contract performance issues and how to handle them.
• Recognize contract record retention requirements
• Learn what not to do as a COR.

The Instructor- is a Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) with the NCMA, and a Certified Public Purchasing Official (CPPO) with the NIGP, and was DAWIA AND FAC-C Level III certified in contracting with over 32 years of federal contracting experience. He is the managing director of The Acquisition Institute, and also as one of the lead instructors teaching government contracting, COTR and Public-Private Partnership courses.

When: Monday, March 26, 2012, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM and Tuesday, March 27, 2012, same time

Where: Northern Virginia Training Center (on the METRO) 7054 Haycock Road, Fairfax, VA 22043. The location is on the Orange METRO line, exit at the “West Falls Church Exit” and walk about 400 footsteps to the front door of the UVA campus.

CLP: Continuous Learning Points (16 to 20 CLPs): Each participant will be eligible for a minimum 16 CLP credits towards their FAC-COR re-certification as needed all the way to a maximum of 20 CLP credits if the student attendee elects to complete the 1st night’s homework assignment. Course certificates for either 16 or 20 CLP credits will be available for download immediately following the course. Each student is giving a Password to print their own certificate depending on credits earned. Remember to give a copy to your ACM and keep a copy for your records.
