Coricidin seeks settlement against Author in cough medicine abuse case

(Free-Press-Release.com) October 13, 2009 -- Coricidin, a popular brand of over-the-counter medication may well be seeking a lawsuit to have a similar depiction of one of their medications removed from Jay M Horne's newly released book 'I Took The Red Pill'. The work focuses on the author's 10 year addiction to cough medicine, his fight to recovery and his findings along the way. Though he never reveals the name of the medicine he is hooked on, the cover depicts an image strikingly similar to one of Coricidin's cough and cold brand medication.

It is well know that the abuse of many over-the-counter medications has skyrocketed in the previous few years. Teens are finding more creative ways to abuse drugs with the widely available access to information on the internet. Coricidin and alike brands of cough medicines have taken great pains to stop the abuse of these types of drugs.

When approached about the subject the author tells us, "I have researched this medicine myself after the claims and I will say it is similar but my depiction has three c's on it rather than their brand only depicting two c's." he goes on to tell us, "I am in no way trying to slander Coricidin. It has been around longer than I have and it is obviously a fantastic medication for those with HBP. I blame no one and nothing for my actions, for they are in fact my actions."
